The train journey in PP was Titty and Roger travelling up to Windermere Station, with the train calling at Oxenholme en route. That was where they get the first Pigeon Post from Nancy. The West Coast line, as far as I know has always departed from Euston. The person who mentioned Dick and Dot on their train journey is probably thinking of CC and the train for Wroxham does not leave from Euston. I believe it departs from St Pancras.
I am surprised that Titty and Roger had a straight through train. When I have been to the Lakes, I have had to change trains at Oxenholme. Although I am told by Broadstairs Station that it is still possible to get a straight through train from Euston.
AR does seem to mix his locations for where the D's and Swallows come from. Harrogate and London are AR's usual locations to bring people from. The other comments are right about The Walkers movong about a lot. Having deconstructed AR's books which meant going line by line through every one of the 14 books. The inconsistancies become obvious. For instance why in SA is Nancy suffering from Hyperactivity and Peggy hysterical
yet a year later in book time both have calmed down although according to the Doctor in WH Nancy is way out of Parental control. It those days a girl out of Parental control was called a "nancy". The term later changed to "tomboy".
