On another point, both The Times and The Daily Telegraph today carried obituaries for Norman Willis

A splendid chap. I interviewed him for a programme on the 125th anniversary of the TUC, and he was interesting, funny, really rather wise and, when I looked at the archive footage of him being howled down the miners, clearly a brave man.
At the time I had no idea that as well as being General Secretary of the TUC he'd also been involved with embroidery, and with TARS. I missed a chance for a chat there...
