In New Zealand you can get "Cabin Bread" in supermarkets. They look and taste like double size cream crackers, quite thick and require strong teeth!
We take them tramping (=hiking) in the bush - often we take food for 6-10 days, or when sailing, if we can't get fresh bread.
Not a lot of help to you, but perhaps interesting......
