Are we not in danger of applying today’s mores to yesterdays events? I’m not THAT old but we used to play “war” with air pistols, rule one, no deliberate head shots,,,,,,,,,,
What about the popular vogue for martial arts? Or good old time boxing, or rugby or any of the many ‘contact’ sports? Kids still enjoy them and for the most part with adults around . What do you imagine they get up to when we aren’t watching?
In any case, this is just the old "why don't they wear lifejackets" argument, and just as sterile.
