Peter, I must admit characters in fiction didn't occur to us in compiling this page. It's an interesting thought and could also be a great resource; it would certainly be worth seeing what we can put together.
Are you thinking of instances where we are sure from things Ransome or others might have written as to where his inspiration came from, or perceived parallels?
On first thought, it could make sense to have a separate page, so we have "Inspirations from Life" and "Inspirations from Fiction" or something like that. Perhaps it depends on how many suggestions we can put together.
