You want cold, come to Northern Ontario. Minus 35 outside my door at 7 this morning. Smaller lakes (tarns?) all frozen, of course, but Lake Superior (at least, Thunder Bay) is steaming like a huge witches' cauldron due to the 40 degree difference between air and water temperature: quite eerie.
