Thank you Wayne and Robert for your replies.
I do have one further question!
The book I may be purchasing is the 1931 Lippincott edition,do you have any idea how many printings there were of this book, actually in 1931?

Okay one more question!
Which of the two editions published in 1931 is the most desirable ( collectable)the Cape or Lippincott ?

Thank you again for your help, I will be buying newer editions too so my daughter can read them without fear of damaging the book!

It's very strange, I grew up in England and vacationed in Southwold and Lowestof(sp). As children my siblings and I would play Swallows and Amazons in the old paddle boat pond in Southwold!
Recently I had a dream about those old adventures.
So this book is as much for me, as it is for my daughter!

Thanks again for your help,
Terry Carman.
