this is my fourth try since the 2k changeover to get something on the board. i feel that the reason the old masters are fading in book sales popularity is multifold but rest on a few main factors.
1 - the new educators don't seem to like history with all of its facts and figures.
2 the rl steins of the world have television and movie tie ins along with merchandising that would make pt barnum blush.
3 the children are not under the direct supervision and control of adult experts and are having fun!
4 the children have many adventures doing things that would have them up before the majistrate in about 2 minutes, they are constantly doing things that are no longer tolerated.
5 ther are no long lectures about living right ... the kids just live their lives not interested in drugs, cigarettes, alcohol or religion.
these facts make it plain that the only way todays generation will get mass exposure is if we start a campaign to get the exixting movies back on tv - say on satellite or cable or if we expose ar as totally politically incorrect so that the kids themselves demand the books at the local wal-mart or 7-11. perhaps i'm just a little too radical . happy new year everyone.
