At this stage, it has been envisaged as set 10 years after Swallows & Amazons first setting - in 1939. I considered some threat to the island by the war effort and how the orginal characters would react, given that they range in age from early twenties down to Bridget who is about 12. Obvious romance such as nancy and timothy have developed but also other possibilities. More important is how the characters have grown, something Ransome didn't really develop.
