I found (i) marginal interest among my crop of 5 (US/UK) kids (born 58-85,
even with successive trips to the Lakes at appropriate ages - they
enjoyed romping around looking for Dogs Home, but that's about it-
Carlisle Castle/Bonnie Prince Charlie/and the Amblesite Roman site
seem more gripping..and of course the Oasis Resort at Penrith really
does it---) and (ii) none whatever so far among 6 grandkids -- I suppose
the change in 50 years from a fairly peaceful Lakes
(easy to drive around and camp) to the present traffic jam
might have something to do with it.. oh well, I enjoyed it ... !!!
