Michael, I'm not sure where you got those birthdays from .... but if you are right,
then on August 11, 1931, the date that the Swallows & Amazons climbed Kanchenjunga,
Nancy was 21 years old and Peggy 17 -- and that clearly doesn't jibe either with the
other information about the Blacketts or indeed with the characters in the book.
