I'm off to Coniston for the weekend (gloat, gloat) and thought that seeing it is winter I would take a look at High Greenland.
The question is, where is it? Northern Region, I believe, organised a walk on Whitbarrow and advertised it as 'Greenland'.
But on what authority? On the map it does look a likely candidate especially as it is perched above Ludderburn (where AR developed the signaling from Mars technology.
But Whitbarrow is so obviously limestone, surely Dick would have mentioned this?
I've always visualised the area south of Dow Crags where the cliffs are rather more managable than Dow itself. But AR used this area in SD.Any other suggestions ? What about Alaska?
P.S. The crag fast sheep incident is definitley 'don't try this at home' stuff!
