Southern end of Coniston water i.e. Holly Howe down to Peel Island is SA territory. That has never been in dispute. None the less Beckfoot and the Blacketts is the North west end of Lake Windermere, AR's own text maps the route taken by Swallow from "Holly Howe Bay" i.e. Windermere Marina to Wild Cat Island, which for this piece is not Peel Island but RAMPHOLME. The Amazons attack on the Swallows is for the sea part based on Windermere. It is only when you come inside Wild Cat Island to places such as Secret Harbour that AR switches to Peel Island, The Amazons go round Wild Cat Island and head back towards the islands off Bowness and eventually to the bay at Huyton Hill and the Amazon River which is Pull Beck. AR keeps switching locations so perhaps Octopus lagoon detail such as the deep water and the water lillies is Allan Tarn but set into the physical location of Pull Wyke Swamp. You asked which is which? The answer is BOTH at different times. Beckfoot is clearly Huyton Hill from AR's drawings and maps. Coniston Water does not have a location matching AR's description of Beckfoot and its location and layout.
