I notice from recent UK web-sites etc that Drag hunting
is being touted as a PC-alternative to Fox-hunting,
preserving the small no of jobs (1000), and presumably the
healthy aspects of the Hunt--
As I recall AR (SD,PP and PM) avoided mention of Fox-hunting (but I
stand to be corrected, maybe it was just a matter of the time of year) - except
possibly in passing-- and focused exclusively on Drag-hunting--
Although John Peel & his peers - who prob wouldn't know the meaning
of "Drag-hunt" except as training for the Hounds?--
is certainly a major part of Lakeland life and attraction--
A deliberate PC choice by AR one must presume. Fish, eels, trapping
for food (Jackie) are OK; Other than Roger's cart-horse
I dont recall any Lakeland horseback riding either, leaving the field wide
open for Josephone Hull and Pamela Whitlock, Far-Distant Oxus...in Devon
