Note the fox-hunting songs sung by old Mr Swainson and Roger (SD, pp. 123 & 126).
I'm still hunting for the full texts, but am encouraged by the fact that
Edward Thomas quotes 'One morning last winter to Holmbank there came' as a song
familiar to all North country huntsmen. Did AR learn his hunting songs from
Thomas in the same way that he learnt his chanties from Masefield?
