OK, I admit it. I wrote "Deep Underground". I did it partly to show that "Fan Fiction" might not be such a good idea, and partly because I felt that the "Real Nancy Blackett" thread was getting a little too serious.
Of course, the issue is not "Which house is really Beckfoot?", but "Which came first, the Swallows or the Amazons?". Iain H has contributed some important research in this area. I can understand his frustration when new evidence which he needs to prove his case seems to be tantalisingly out of reach.
Might I suggest Iain that rather than firing off clumsily disguised accusations of a Tars conspiracy, you first write courteously to the Literary Executors explaining exactly what it is that you are looking for.
