Thanks Peter, I appreciate your comments - and indeed those other posting privately and in Club Hut.
I do not want to publicly criticise individuals - even if such criticism is justified (and I may be mistaken), the purpose of my post was to point out that decisions made by TARS office holders should be seen to be made to the benefit of 'Things S&A' and not to just promote their own buisness or charitable interests (however worthy) as it is unbecoming and tends to upset other TARS members who run small buisnesses in the area (ME!!!).
If 'The Membership' attending the AGM wants one or two Coniston S&A cruises during the week of the AGM I would be very happy to run extra ones to fit in with the programme (after all it would be a more pleasing Ransome-esque alternative to being cast as Hullabaloos aboard one of those Windermere plastic gin-palaces!)
We are the GREEN ALTERNATIVE and run Swallows and Amazons Cruises aboard traditional timber 1920s launches.
and of course the REAL Wildcat Island is on Coniston Water!
