I read most of the S&As as a child and have recently reread them (in some ways they're better than ever, in some ways they're sad, as my imagination doesn't seem as bright as it once was).
I recall knowing that Peter Duck (the book) was 'not true', but I can find no overt mention of this in the book itself. Have later editions dropped a preface, or something?
