The latest spin on the loud/irritating/dangerous Jet-Ski craze is an unmanned water-skiing boat. It's a jet-ski-ish device that you control with a handlebar at the end of a 15-foot-or-so cable; it zips along up ahead, pulling you through the water on skis.
This is so inherently dangerous, though, that complaints have started before it is even being sold, so perhaps it will never rear its ugly head on Windemere or anywhere else.
