Ed, I think you make some interesting points. I had noticed the way Titty's role "migrated" to Dorothea. Another point why is Nancy credited with the illustrations ( or help with them) when Titty was the artistic one?
Or didn't AR think his pictures were up to Titty's standard?
I don't think Daisy and her brothers are indistinguishable but Daisy seems very much a Nancy clone, with a different language.
As for Joe and Bill, I think a close reading gives them different characters but I'll have to go and do it (the close reading) before expounding further on the subject!
