Hello to you all.

I saw the S&A film when it first came out in the cinemas in Australia in the mid 70's, and loved it. I have always been particularly fond of Titty's character and performance; I thought she was really well done. The film isn't available here in video stores, but some years ago I was delighted to find a copy in a teachers' library. Of course I borrowed it for my kids to watch. It became such a favourite of theirs, that whenever I was visting the library, and later, whenever they were sick, I was asked to get it. I think part of the fascination -apart from the general fascination with Ransome stories - was with the accents and the delivery of speech, and several of the lines have become standards in our family. The comments below about the slow pace are interesting to me because I think the slowness and the sense of turning everydayness into adventure is part of its charm.
