About a month ago we saw several postings on "personal" watercraft such as jetskis, especially in the context of the Lakes. This morning I found the following in the S.F. Chronicle:

National parks restrict use of watercraft

The National Park Service announced last week that its final rule
for managing personal watercraft use goes into effect April 20,
prohibiting them except where the service determines they're
appropriate
(italics added).

Vacationers can continue to use the controversial vessels in 10 national
recreation areas that were established primarily for water-based recreation
and are "characterized by substantial motorized boating use."

These include Gateway (New York), Glen Canyon (Arizona/Utah) and Lake Mead
(Arizona/Nevada). During a two-year grace period, some other areas --
including Fire Island, N.Y., and Cape Cod -- can continue to allow personal
watercraft while public comment is weighed.
