About four years ago I traced the 1963 six part black & white S&A serial to the BBC archives. They quoted me about, I can't remember exactly, £450 for the six parts. The Board agreed to this amount, gave me a cheque which I sent to the BBC. Three weeks later they rang to tell me that on opening the can they found the film had deteriorated so much that it couldn't be copied. To add insult to injury they then informed me they did not have the copyright, but if I wished to contact the Film & Television Archives (who still had the original negatives, but no mention of copyright) they would happily supply me with a copy at around £800 per episode. Needless to say their offer was not accepted! Susan George very kindly sent me one episode. Incidentally, for some inexplicable reason Titty's name was changed to KITTY! I don't know about you chaps but when I was 13 I wouldn't have baulked at Titty, I'd have taken it in my stride! and if you believe that you'll believe anything!
I don't have any knowledge of who appeared in what after 1963 but I saw Amanda Coxell's name, the child who played Peggy, in the credits for 'Blue Murder at St Trinian's'
