Peter: There are a lot of Hale-Bopp sites on the net, but for most of
us up here, (Canada for my part) the southern hemisphere is about as
far away as Jupiter! The only useful info I could find was that by June
the comet will only be visible in the southern hemisphere. Whether or
not you can see it now I don't know. When you can see it, it is quite
a sight. Having spent 3 months on a sheep farm near Ashburton, I
know that the stars seem much brighter in the southern sky and you will
have a spectacular display. I'm also sure Dick will be there enjoying
it with you.
