Johnny Broadbeans and other reckless types might be interested in an update to a previous thread discussing the the usefulness of a GPS navigation receiver for such activities as night sailing (as in SA, WDMTGTS). The GPS accuracy for civilian users has just been enhanced by the system operators.
This has been achieved (as of last Monday 00.00 hours GMT) by the operating authority deciding to disable the deliberate degradation on the so-called C/A signal.
This should give a location measurement error typically rather less than 10 metres.
Johnny might like to consider the relevance of this information before he makes another foray (day or night) near to Wild Cat Island.
