Thank you, Nina, for reminding me about Milly-Molly-Mandy. I'd quite forgotten about her. Her exploits were recounted in several books my sister owned in the 1940s, which I enjoyed reading myself. (I especially remember Billy Blunt's swimming lessons, waving arms and legs around while spreadeagled over a packing-case on his stomach.) Nice to be reminded of them.
