I know it is a bit pedantic to make this point - but we NEVER complain at having to initiate a rescue on Coniston Water, we consider it our duty to render such assistance as we can to anyone or any vessel in distress on the Lake - and do so willingly and without complaint. We have been delighted to carry Mr Hobbs on our boats but I fear that his imagination has lured him into inaccurate reportage!

Furthermore there are no designated Rescue Boats on Coniston Water - the craft at the Boating Centre (and indeed at the other establishments around the lake) are Safety Boats and that is a different animal entirely.

O.K. - so now you know!
