Greetings to all from the TARS 10th Anniversary AGM Weekend - everyone seems to be having a splendid time. The only complaint is that one can't do everything, but at least there is something to please most members. So far:
Friday - Horseshoe Cove walk, reminiscences of AR, Junior games.
Saturday - Swallowdale walk (no, we didn't find it, thank goodness, but we did see hints here and there which might have inspired AR), Kanchenjunga ascent, talks by Margaret Ratcliffe and Ted Alexander, Lake Cruise, Mrs. Barrable's Workshop, raft building, canoeing and Laser capsizing (sorry, sailing), barn dance. Best of all - the inaugural meeting of Roger's AllsTARS band - the Chocolateers!! They play in earnest on Sunday at the camp fire, where their varying standards (beginner to blindingly good) and ages (6 to unmentionable) will be put to the test. The rehearsal was pretty good!
Further reports will no doubt follow.
