What a great weekend! what a flotilla, fifty boats, many of the most curious and cunning designs and a cannon!
And what organisation! It's easy for us in the "less favoured regions" like the Midlands to bewail the lack of Ransome sites to use for a.g.m.s etc. but think of the responsibility for those who have no such excuse and are expected to find water side sites with room for hordes of Ransome hungry devotees and all for half a crown a head. Our Friends from the North pulled off a major miracle.
And that's why I must support Southern Region's plan to shift the date amd emphasis of the a.g.m.. Otherwise the pressure on each successive regional committee to be bigger and better than the last will become unbearable.
Why don't those of us who like getting our feet wet have an annual camp? Coniston Hall on Kanchenjunga Day (August the 11th from memory) might suit.
What do you think?
