We used to listen to the Green Sailors on Children's Hour, and loved them - I even have a semaphore postcard from my father sent to remind us they were on.
Not long ago I found an old copy of the book and reread it - sadly it was dreadful. Trite adventure yarns (smugglers and stuff) crudely interleaved with basic sailing instuction. not a patch on AR!
