We are a family of sailors who are heading to Scotland this summer (June 21-July 6). We have long been AR fans and would enjoy meeting some TARS in their native habitat, as it were!
We have plans to stay at "Holly Howe" the nights of 6/27 and 6/28. Otherwise our schedules are fairly free and open. We'll be staying with a huge family crowd (there are 23 all together!) near Aberfeldy but we four will have a car in order to escape on occasion.
We would especially enjoy getting out in a sailboat in England or Scotland, even for a short voyage, and would willingly return the favor to any TAR traveling to the coast of Maine, where we live. (We have at present two small sloops, a sea kayak, and a dinghy.)
Most of all, we'd like to make a connection with the natives. Our girls are 12 and 15 (the 12-year-old is the AR fanatic). I am a writer and my husband is an architect. This is the girls' first trip to Britain.
