My childhood, it seems, was full of Debbies, Tracys, Cheryls and Sues. When my oldest child started school, four of the other preschool drudge mothers were called Sue. My father wanted to call my sister either Susan or Cynthia - fortunately my mother got her way and her name is Janet. In my high school chemistry class there were three Susans. Sue and Susie are (untested hypothesis) the most common names in popular songs, from "If you knew Susie" through "Runaround Sue" to Cohen's "Susanne". So, it seems, the world has been well stocked with Susans of every shape for about seventy years!

Idly musing. Not working.
