The would-be Jemmerling, egg collector Dennis Green was a British Wildlife Photographer of the Year! He was caught because he used both ballpoint pens and felt-tip pens which were not in common use until 1945 and the 1960s respectively.

Would he have been caught if he had written dates in the sixties and seventies on his stuffed birds and eggs I wonder? The news even made the paper here in Wellington, New Zealand (Dominion, 4 July).
