There are still similar boats for sale, though these days they
will be beamier (and hence less tippy) than Swallow or Amazon.

If you are after a second-hand boat, try the classified ads
sections of 'Classic Boats' or 'Watercraft', or attend the end-of-
season auction that takes place in the Norfolk Broads each year.

If you want to build your own clinker boat then John Leather's
'Clinker Boatbuilding' is an excellent place to start. If you want
to build a wooden boat using 'new technology' i.e. epoxy and ply
then you can find details of DIY kits in these two magazines.

The inlets of North Wales are beautiful, but estuary bars and
tidal races can be dangerous places even on a fine day. Go out
first with someone who has local knowledge before you take out
your own crew to sea.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on.
