While browsing the latest "Illustrated and Children's" catalogue of Nigel Williams, I noticed item 393, a Picture Book by Dorothy Craigie called "Captain Flint Kidnapped". The work is described as follows:
"Petnapping on a grand scale is ultimately thwarted by the resourcefulness of Captain Flint, the nautically minded parrot. The story unfolds in Craigie's vivid drawings and accompanying text. Deep yellow hard-paper pictorial boards showing Flint in the nabber's swag bag. An attractive square book."
There is plenty here for TARS to ponder; eg a parrot called Flint. (Note also the ARish pun on thwart). Does anyone know this work? Is any debt to AR acknowledged?
