And while you're there at the Dogs' Home, suggest you check out the
condition of that roof. I hear that a few well places stuffings
of moss will plug the holes. I also remember that there is a loose
slab of slate not in the proper place. You can tell by the puddle
on the floor that such attentions are needed.

If only proper care could have been given to that roof, it would
not have fallen in TEN YEARS later (1939). I'm sure it did; just
