Ed:
The Wooden Boats site is lovely. I have to point out, though, that Alexandria
is in Virginia, not Maryland. The 'Family Boatbuilding' page made reference
to the Alexandria Seaport Foundation in Virginia. The Wooden Boat show was in St. Michael's,
Maryland, which is on the Eastern Shore of Maryland (that part of the Delmarva
peninsula which faces the Chesapeake Bay).
It is worth noting that the site mentions events all over the U.S. including
the west coast.
Wooden Boat Publications is located in Maine, the northeasternmost state
in the U.S.
On a tangential note, in this morning's Washington Post, a columnist has
listed some amusing T-shirt slogans and included this: "I'd Rather Be in the
Boat With a Drink on the Rocks Than in the Drink With a Boat on the Rocks."
I'm sure many Ransome fans would agree!
