As a fairly northern canadian I find it odd that you "Ynks" don't realize that we in the north, just like Alaska have a much later sundown than you. I refer of course to the Midnight Sun. In the Lake district it probably wouldn't be really dark in the early summer till 10 PM or later. No self respecting person would be out that late unless they were camping - then very rare in england. i seem to recall that AR took great pride in being one of ( if not ) THE FIRST tenter(s) in the Lake District. the rest of the conversation on this point has been quite entertaining and I thank you all for the "string".
