Mushrooms

Fully endorse the comments so far made re mushies for breakfast. (and on pizza and steak, mushrooms, bacon, tomato and onion in gravy makes the perfect topping for liver).

Prune juice

Weren't they eating prunes rather than drinking prune juice? As one of the last of the baby boomers, I remember prunes and custard being a fairly regular (hyurr, hyurr, hyurr) pudding. Along with jam roly poly and cream (my favourite), rice pudding (also my favourite), rhubarb crumble (yep, my favourite), semolina (pretty much my favourite)...
