Lucky you, Steve! I'm still waiting to find that mint Swallows and Amazons first edition at a jumble sale! Do hang on to your signed copy, they are not that common and it is also worth trying to find a 1948 dust-wrapper to go with it. You might even consider buying a cheap 1948 dust-wrappered copy from which to purloin the wrapper. As long as the wrapper is of the correct year I (along with the book trade) consider this acceptable practice - unlike the despicable practice of putting a later wrapper on an earlier book (as occasionally practised by a certain London book-dealer).
