To pick up Dave's point, AR doesn't seem to have included the cinema as a major influence on the S, A & Ds. And the only recollection I have of the radio (wireless) being mentioned is in CC where it is the nasty entertainment of the Hullabaloos. By contrast, the role of photography in BS shows that AR was not against new technology. I suspect that the technology was introduced if it added to the plot, but that otherwise it was just part of the background details which may or may not be included depending on AR's artistic inclinations.
