Thank you very much for your very precise information.

Actually, some of us first thought the eggs might be very small.
I'm not sure about the eggs in Britain, but I think the eggs in Canada
are similar in size to those in Japan.(I lived in Toronto for several
years--but I'd never wondered about the boiled eggs at that time.
I cooked in Japanese way at home, and ordered fried or scrambled
eggs at hotels.)

I remember my teacher in ESL class in Canada said that she doesn't
actually "boil" the boiled eggs. At that time the all students
in the class said that we do boil the eggs, and we finished the
conversation on that subject. Now I understand that what she meant
was "to put the eggs into the boiling water and turn off the heat" .

So I see some people put the eggs in boiling water and some people
put them in cold water. And there must be a difference between
electric stove and gas stove. In Japan, natural gas stove is popular.
Electric stove is slow to heat at first and powerful later, and
gas stove has a quick start. Of course Swallows cooked with
open fire at camp.

Anyway, I do appreciate your reply. And please don't worry about
the 10-minutes cooked eggs -- I think it's similar to the eggs you
left in the pan. They are just good and hard.
