I agree with Alan Hakim that the coincidences in real life can exceed any found in all but the most way-out fiction. This is a non-AR reminisce, so be warned. When I married, 21 years ago in the cathedral at Hamilton, Ontario, I asked the organist toplay as recessional the fifth movement of Widor's organ symphony. He was apologetic, but explained that the organ was in need of repair and could not handle anything so ambitious. I was disappointed, but made do with a march by Marcello. Two days later we were in the UK on honeymoon (the Lake District, of course -- so there is an AR link) and touring Carlisle Cathedral. While we looked around the organist was practicing odd snatches of unrelated pieces -- just a chord or two at a time (rather awful, in fact). Tina and I stood loooking at the high altar and then turned and walked back down the aisle -- han-in-hand, of course. At the moment we started, the organist launched into the fifth movement of Widor's organ symphony, which he played right through. AR never came up with a coincidence like that!
