I have sympathy with this position.
As a reader, I am naturally interested in an overview of AR's personal life experience since this must have moulded the writer to be. I am certainly interested in the experiences which he converted to his writing as in the origins of Peter Duck.
I am much less interested in what he had for breakfast on 15 December 1915 but some clearly are.
A message I consistently get is of the second wife being a miserable critical bitch ( I was married to one so I recognise the symptoms)- what do others think?
Might he have been better/worse without her input and the constant house moves?
