Thanks again for your list of things to ponder. Some may seem obvious to some readers but I think most of us will find something of value here. For myself, although I have done quite a bit of sailing, the significance of the word "patent" when referring to patent blocks had completely eluded me. As for repeating the voyage of the Teasel I'm quite sure it can be done. In 1988 my family hired a similar yacht (advertised as continuously offered for hire since 1903) and sailed from Horning to Ranworth, through Potter to Horsey and various other spots.
