I sent a message to the 12 Washington State TARSUS members for whom I had e-mail addresses asking how they weathered
the earthquake and if they are all right. I've heard from half of them; everybody is okay and damage is mostly restricted
to the occasional vase or bottle of wine; one family in Tacoma (closer to the epicenter) got cracks in their 78-year-old
chimney but that was more or less to be expected. Of the other six I think they are closer to Seattle and may be affected
by the power outage, or just too busy to worry about unsolicited e-mail! But I think our folks have pretty much come through
all right.
