On Friday 20 June "Nancy Blackett" should be returned to the water ready for the
final preparations for her first voyage since her acquisition by the
Trust. She will leave Southwold and Harbour Marine, who have been caring for her,
to sail to Ipswich to take part in the "Sail" weekend of the 28/29 June.
There is a list of all sorts of items we need to equip her with from Lifejackets at £60 each to a Deckbrush at £5. Some of you have asked what you could donate to the boat and several items such as the Foghorn and a set of signal flags have already been provided by friends of Nancy, If you would like to help with providing something for the boat please contact Peter Willis at the Nancy Blackett Trust Ltd on telephone 01252 28187.
We need:- Flares, Fenders, Buckets, Lifejackets, Diesel can, Paraffin can, First Aid Kit, Fire Blanket, Boathook, Deck Brush, An Ensign, Torch, Charts, a Funnel, a "Tars" Burgee and even "Woolworth Plates"!! Plus, of course, anything else you'd like to donate.
