Thanks for your comments!

It may take a while for us to develop this idea further. The main project at home at the moment is building a tree house for the girls to 'hold meetings' in. It may seem that this is all talk and ideas but no action. Far from it!

Last year Bethany and Bryony discovered that a farmer was digging up a large scheduled celtic settlement with a bulldozer. Sadly the desctruction can never be replaced, but Cadw put a stop to the work, which was probably grant aided land improvement scheme. She also has done a lot to get local footpaths opened up, and has suffered considerable aggression from the farmers and from other children at school as a result. A few years ago we also provided information to the police that led to the sucessfull prosecution of the clerk to the local Community council on 5 counts of fraud and embezzlement. He was not simply a local peorson striving to support his community by doing voluntary work to help the council (as he claimed) but he was a senior member of the county council staff working in the treasurers department. I later heard from the police that he was a bankrupt and as such was disqualified from holding public office as a CiPFA accountant. (see http://www.northwales.org.uk/nolan/statement)

There are endless examples of planning mal-practice in this area, and a culture of discrimination against so called 'English' migrants. We have even been shot at whilst having our Sunday lunch, and the bullet holes are still in our windows.

Bethany's work in trying to discover where Sophie Neville is has also been a most worthwhile venture as I hope everyone will soon discover!.

What we need next is to get a digital cam to provide some illustrations to the basic text, but we do appreaciate your further ideas and suggestions. We would especially like to hear from any other children who would be interested in formalising such activities in their local areas.

JN.
