I treasure these tapes, and appreciate very much the work Gabriel puts into each one. Judging by the extremely enthusiastic response to his readings at the World's Whopper, there are many, many TARS who share these sentiments.
But, tapes wear out. It would be a shame to copy them as insurance: In doing so one would, perhaps, be in violation of copyright laws: Also, there is loss of audio quality in doing this.
The Society supports their sale and distribution by Ted's excellent SOCIETY STALL. Would it be appropriate / possible for TARS to "publish" these on compact discs? Perhaps this is a topic for consideration by TARPAULIN? Perhaps the TARS Board has addressed this already? Should one make a formal suggestion to the Board?
