Good point about AR really being believable (i.e. all the groups are serious and goody-goody the whole time, the only exception being the Amazons/Eels going a little off the rails in SW..), a fictitious example with which I used to tease my children was book 13: "Dick performs Brain Surgery"...
BUt published books by 14-16 year olds are rare, one exception being Pamela Hull & Katherine Whitlock 3-book Oxus series, which TARS people would have, up till now, some difficulty in finding - the children make no bones about mixing in delights of civilization (movies, cafe meals ..), fist fights, getting rides in cars, giving the slip to nannies etc. And of course their weak 'plots' dont grip us as adults--
( a bit like SD in fact).
